BETTER FOR OUR PLANET

We don’t feel that bathroom products should ever pollute our planet. Our mineral salts are 100% pure and natural and our products never contain less than 97% naturally derived ingredients.

Sustainability of our products is key to us. We harvest our salts in a controlled manner, so we do not exploit our finite resources. We are also continually sourcing abundant alternatives to the more finite resources to ensure the protection and sustainability of our planet’s natural minerals. Our sources discharge zero waste into the environment.

We have never used microbeads were one of the first brands to join the 'Beat the Microbead' movement in 2016.

Our cardboard is made from recycled material and is 100% recyclable.

Our bottles and pots have always been 100% recyclable and will continue to be so.

Our salt pouches are now being packed in recyclable plastic, so look out for the symbol on the new packs as they may take a while to filter through to your high street. You can recycle these with plastic bags at larger supermarkets, or through Ocado. Do also check with your local authority for kerbside collection as this is becoming available in more areas. If your area don’t provide this service yet, then please do urge them to do so.

We have always been and will always continue to be 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

As part of our commitment to global responsible sourcing we select suppliers who support their local communities to help reduce poverty. This includes funding local schools and medical provisions. In recent times our suppliers have been supporting frontline workers and their families providing their basic needs during the Covid pandemic.

We are committed to supporting causes that inspire or make a positive difference to the lives of others. From an Elephant Sanctuary in Cambodia (elephants actually soak their damaged feet in Epsom salt for pain relief) to helping Paralympians on their journey to the Olympics, to supporting our friends over at Tribe in their fight against modern slavery, we’re proud and honoured to support inspirational people on their journeys and share their stories with our community.

Each year we pledge one tonne of Westlab Salt to charities and heroes around the world.
