Here at OOSC, one of our main missions is to do our bit for the environment and produce the funkiest garms with the least environmental impact we can. We decided that it was about time that we made the beach as sustainable and colourful as we have made the mountains. Say hello to our new swim wear range!
Back in 2015, it was estimated that there were around 150 million metric tonnes of plastic waste in our oceans, with this number set to increase to 600 million metric tonnes by 2040. Despite measures being taken around the world, targets are not being met, putting many marine species at risk of extinction by 2100 if things do not change.
In order to join the effort to reduce the use of plastics and keep them out of our oceans, our entire swimwear range has been produced using polyester generated from recycled plastic waste. Plastic bottles are sorted by colour, cleaned, then cut into shavings which are then generated into pellets. These pellets are then melted down into fibres, which are pulled apart, drawn out, cut up, stretched and bailed. The bailed yarn is then woven into swimwear fabric and our funky patterns are then printed on to the fabric. The fabric is then cut and made into our swimwear. From bottles to the beach.

Along with our swim range being made of recycled goodness, we have designed the collection to be as varied style wise as possible. No two bodies are the same, and we want you to feel the best you can when you’re in your swimmers.
So, with that in mind, we have designed 16 combinations of bikini tops and bottoms, along with one piece swimsuits to cater for every beach body. You can match your partner, boyfriend, girlfriend, best friends, gran, second cousin once removed in OOSC swimwear, all with the knowledge that you can feel and look great at the beach, pool, or even in the mountains...
Climate change and fast fashion go hand in hand, so by choosing to shop with OOSC instead of the fast fashion giants, you are supporting a small business that is committed to sustainability and keeping plastics out of our oceans. Everyone can play their part in this mission and even small steps can make a difference.
